Experimental Fluid Mechanics
Full-field pressure measurement is of great value in fluid dynamics. Current approaches do not offer universally applicable solutions for this problem. This project combines a highly sensitive optical setup utilising deflectometry and the Virtual Fields Method (VFM) to reconstruct pressure on a surface under dynamic loading from a turbulent air jet.
Mean flow and turbulent flow events on the investigated surface can thus be studied in high spatial and temporal resolution.
